Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is the certification only globally accepted designation for internal auditors. CIA is conferred by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) established in 1942 with 190.000 members in 190 countries in the world.

According to the agreement between ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and  IIA, ACCA-CIA Challenge Exam has been developed for ACCA members to earn CIA in October 2018
