Key Purpose of the Job:
The Business Analyst (“the BA”) uses business acumen and technical knowledge to develop documentation and tools to drive improvement for the organization. While working closely with the other business functions, the technology team and other external stakeholders, the BA must make sure that requirements are clearly stated, well documented, and delivered. The BA is also responsible for translating the user’s needs into technical documents that can be communicated effectively for implementation. The BA should have good overview about business processes as well as knowledge that encompasses finance, sales & marketing, information technology and software.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Process management and continuous improvement
- In line with the management priorities, create, review and update flowcharts representing workflows and SOPs in alignment with the organizational process framework
- Define, analyze and document clearly business requirements captured through discussions with the other business functions
- Capture issues, identify opportunities, and propose solutions that drive business improvement
- Support the development of documents, tools and assets that improve the effectiveness of the organizational processes
- Assist requirements definition for users’ access to appropriate process and procedure assets
Software configuration and integration management
- Prepare, update, and manage IT System’s Mapping which is aligned with the Process Maps
- Coordinate with Software & Analytics function to find out IT solutions which meet Business Requirements
- Follow-up on the progress of the software configuration and integration
- Assist in quality assurance, provide support functions in the user accepting testing (UAT) of new software or enhancements to existing software
Business intelligence (BI) and reporting
- Understand, analyze and document business requirements in term of reporting from business functions
- Create models of reports and dashboards per functional request
- Coordinate with the BI Developer to set up reports and dashboards as models
- Eliminate reporting duplication and ensure accuracy of all reports and dashboards
Project management and managerial support
- Leverage project management tools in place to prepare project plans and monitor progress on assigned projects
- Support management in the preparation on key meetings
- Follow-up with all stakeholders to ensure that timelines are met
- Capture meeting minutes in standard format and file for future reference
- Prepare ad-hoc reports when requested by line management
