Business Context and Purpose of this Job

The General Ledger manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the MEC, Reporting, General ledger that includes, but is not limited to, developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure compliance with VAS and IFRS, reviewing the accounting and reporting system activities, the accurate financial transactions postings and submitting financial reports timely. This position also liaises with both Internal and External audit, Government bodies regarding the Financial Statements of the company.

Main accountabilities:

• Month-end closing, Reporting & General Ledger:

– Handle the whole month-end closing processes in coordination with local teams, Operating Center and 3rd party team. Apply local and global initiatives for process improvement and simplification.
Implement and maintain financial reporting statements, systems and policies under VAS and IFRS along with internal controls.

– Ensure completeness, timely and accurate Financial reporting for local VAS and local statutory reporting requirements

– Work closely with Operating Centre (OC) and CG to ensure the same for Unilever group reporting.

– In conjunction with OC, provide accounting treatment and guidance to end users.

– Custodian of SCOA, Product Hierarchy, Cost centers, GL master data and VAS mapping.

– Ensure balance sheet hygiene of total company.

– Lead the financial audit for the company with the external auditors.

• Developing professional skill & career development plan for team members.
• Other tasks as assigned by Line Manager.

Relevant Experience:

• University graduate in Finance/Accounting
• Vietnamese Chief Accountant certified
• Experience in VAS Financial Reporting and controls.
• Experience in IFRS, ACCA is preferable
• Excellent team management
